LAPTOP Technical Editor to Discuss Cellular Gadgets and Gizmos on “Into Tomorrow with Dave Graveline”

New York, NY, April 30, 2004 – John Biggs, Technical Editor of LAPTOP Magazine, a leading mobile technology publication, will be making a guest appearance on the popular radio show, “Into Tomorrow with Dave Graveline.” The five-minute segment on the latest cellular gadgets and gizmos available to consumers is scheduled to air Sunday, May 2nd, at 3:40 p.m. “Into Tomorrow with Dave Graveline” is a 3-hour network radio program currently airing on more than 100 stations around the country, including San Francisco, Miami, and Portland. It is also heard around the world on the Armed Forces Networks, as well as on Sirius and XM Satellite Radio coast-to-coast (www.graveline.com).

PDA and phone convergence is quickly becoming the standard for many new phones. This segment will feature three phones that double as personal information managers, e-mail stations, and wireless Web surfers in one tiny package:

  • Sierra Wireless’ Voq – While this smart phone isn’t yet available from a U.S. carrier, the device has the makings of a hit for mobile professionals looking to replace both a phone and PDA.
  • Nokia’s 6600 - The incredibly powerful camcorder phone with Symbian 7.0 PDA capabilities, built-in Bluetooth, and SMTP, POP3, and IMAP4 e-mail support offers a lot of features for such a compact cell.
  • Handspring’s Treo 600 – This compact smart phone from PalmOne combines a full-featured mobile phone and Palm Powered organizer with wireless e-mail and text messaging, Web browsing and a digital camera.

Five participating listeners will win a free year’s subscription to LAPTOP, the comprehensive source for tracking mobile tech trends and obtaining product-specific buying advice. The popular radio show is the latest in a long list of cross-platform media appearances by LAPTOP’s editorial team. LAPTOP maintains a highly visible media presence through participation in network TV news shows, trade shows, forums, and other events across the country.
