Bill Gates, Michael Dell to Offer Predictions in LAPTOP’s 13th Anniversary Special Issue

New York, NY – November 20, 2003 – LAPTOP will kick off 2004 with an increased circulation rate base, monthly readership climbing to over 533,000, more pages, and an anniversary issue filled with a who’s who list of mobile technology leaders.

The cover story of the January 2004 issue will feature Bill Gates and Michael Dell, along with an impressive list of top executives from other major technology companies, who join LAPTOP to discuss what’s next for mobility. Other industry heavyweights participating in this 176-page special issue include AT&T Wireless, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, Motorola, NETGEAR, Nokia, PalmSource, SanDisk, Sharp, and Sony.

“The overwhelming response we received from the industry’s leading minds proves that LAPTOP is the definitive source for mobile technology,” says Editor-in-chief Mark Spoonauer. “We wanted to reward our readers with a thoughtful look at the technologies that will change the way we work and play in 2004 and beyond.”

In addition to exclusive interviews, LAPTOP’s anniversary issue will include four main “What’s Next” sections: Notebooks, Handhelds, Cell Phones, and Wi-Fi. Each section will contain “Five Trends to Watch,” “Three Hottest Products for 2004,” “Killer Concept,” and a timeline illustrating the progress of mobile technology during LAPTOP’s 13 years.

During its history, LAPTOP has continuously evolved with the progression of mobile technology. The magazine’s insight into emerging wireless technologies, interviews with industry leaders, and in-depth product reviews have gained awards for its editorial content and resulted in proven advertising performance.

LAPTOP truly has a lot to celebrate! The January issue will have a circulation rate base of 110,000, an 18% increase from 2003. A recent study by Millward Brown Intelliquest measures LAPTOP’s monthly readership at over 533,000, up from 396,000 in 2002. LAPTOP’s readership isn’t the only thing growing – its book size will increase to over 180 pages with the January issue. Added newsstand exposure and bonus distribution of the January issue at CES 2004 solidify LAPTOP as the leading mobile technology magazine.

The January 2004 anniversary issue hits newsstands December 16.
